Less is more - but what magic is at play here...?

There's a corner of my kitchen that looks quite magical - I've tried to capture it in a photo but really it doesn't do it justice. It's like a star lit sky projected onto my wall, except that's it's on a peachy background.

 And what magic is at play here? The magic that comes when you combine natural sunlight with a single Christmas bauble that got left out... at Christmas it was one of many baubles on a tree with lights, but left out on its own, it can fill a whole corner of a room with a magical beauty, made more special by the fact that you can't turn it on or off, it simply happens when the sun is at just the right angle to  reflect off the bauble... and as I write this the lights have disappeared again... till next time.
