Author sharing the journey - even the wrong turns and dead ends...

So, my website is back on track and I've optimistically added the link to Rummage4words.co.uk to my blog. The current sticking point is the shop, but if you go to any of the online book sellers or bookshops, and ignore the not currently available notice, then your order will come through to me and I will dispatch your order to you - go on I dare you - let's do this!

Sending books out in style...

Captain is very pleased with the new packaging, he found it discarded on a chair, and instantly took up residence.

But what was the packaging from...? My new bright orange envelopes - because I want my books to arrive in style and make a statement. These are just for the Doodle series at present - but I've ordered some larger ones for the picture books, which will be here in a few days...!

So why should you order this book? What better way to start the summer holidays than a bright orange envelope dropping through your letter box, addressed to your child, and containing a book. A book full of imagination, about a doodle called Iver No-Idea and his dog HB.

Step into a world where words and pictures come alive and interact with the real world...

A Face Full of Snow - the perfect winter read

Lost in a Book does best at fairs and book signings, but in February wouldn't you rather browse my online bookshop than go out in the cold to go shopping...?

Let me bring my books to you...

A Face Full of Snow a must for any young skiers...

Third in the Doodle series:

As Eric crashes his way down the ski slope, totally out of control, his only consolation is that Iver No-Idea isn't there to see.
Iver No-Idea and his dog HB are doodles. But they are no ordinary doodles - they're alive, and words and pictures come alive around them. Iver No-Idea has been learning to ski in a ski brochure. He's been practising for weeks and now he thinks he's an expert, and can't wait to tell Eric how it's done.
But when Iver No-Idea and HB are left behind, they find a way to gatecrash Eric's holiday. They arrive at just the wrong time, causing their own unique brand of trouble.

Procrastination hits a new albeit tasty level...

April at Lost in a Book

Can you smell the bread...?

OK maybe that's going a bit far, but there is some fresh baked bread here... and a chocolate cake - so did I need to bake or am I just bringing procrastination to a new, albeit tasty level...?

Well the alternative is to try new ways of promoting my books, and yes, I can find lots of useful stuff by looking what other authors have done, but it usually results in me adding yet another book to my must have list...

Author rambling on about... stuff

March at Lost in a Book

When I'm not out and about at book signings I'm bobbing about in an imaginary world creating the next book, and right now that means drawing and colouring in. Yes, colouring in, and no I'm not too grown up to be colouring in, so that leaves a conundrum... as a writer I need to write, otherwise the words will just start to back up in my head and who knows what that will lead to. So the obvious outlet for these words is my website where I can chat to my virtual visitors in a my little bookshop with big ideas.

I'm getting a steady flow coming through now, maybe I should set up some comfy sofas and a coffee machine - work with me here, do you have a kettle to hand? you could become part of this imaginary world I seem to be inhabiting...

Lost in a Book online bookshop because January is a time to shop from your favourite armchair and let the books come to you...

On the theme of Grabbing Monday and making the most of it - what about grabbing January...?

January has to be the best month of the year for buying and selling books online - why...? because you can stay at home where it's warm, and let the books come to you.

Still not convinced? Well let me show you what's happening in my online bookshop this month...

Right now you can read the next installment of A Face Full of Snow - and find out the secret of how Iver No-Idea and HB managed to gatecrash Eric's skiing holiday..

And at the end of January it's the 10th anniversary of first publishing The Monster Under The Bed - now how can I celebrate that...? The Monster Under The Bed is now in second edition, but I still have a few first editions left... now what could i do with them...?

Random ramblings of an author with a bookshop...

I have an online bookshop... it's tucked away down a back alley where no one can find it.
So what is the mission...?

Well to open up that back alley of course, or at the very least, to put spot lights around the entrance and make everyone who passes want to know what's down there...

I have an idea, it's been growing in my mind as I went about my day - so while I may not have looked busy today: playing with my cats, going for a swim and mooching around a stable yard, and holding half a bucket of water for a horse to drink - cos it didn't all fit in her main bucket, and she just couldn't see it go to waste... but under that calm exterior, cogs were turning, and I have a new idea you're going to love...

...it's crazy, and it's coming soon...
